Coming SOON
I’m one month away from taking my 300 hr Yoga Teacher Training
There is a part of me that has wondered why it has taken me so long to do so, and another that completely understands why I have waited so long. I’m also so glad that I’ve chosen this training.
Why? There is a high standard of information that is given during this training. The details and precision are SO impressive and reiterates the purpose for a continuing education course. But I won’t lie when I say that I have had to wait for this course to be ready in its time and for the right one to present itself. I didn’t want to learn from just anyone. This 300 course is there to learn the layers of information that is endless in yoga. I have been so excited and impressed with all the information that is given thus far and I haven’t even arrived for our in person practicum.
We are learning Sanskrit, which is totally new language for me. It’s awesome to learn the correct pronunciation, the ability to read devanagari is almost a miracle in itself. I don’t often feel intimidated by others, but the amount of knowledge that is shared is quite impressive. There are a lot of details that have gone into this training. Philosophy, Mantra chanting, history, and much more are subjects that we have already brushed upon in great detail. One of the reasons that I’m very happy to be attending this specific 3rd year of Love and All is Coming training is that there have been some kinks worked out. I didn’t want to be a test subject and I believe there have been many kinks and faults that have been smoothed out during the last couple trainings, as well as the knowledge grained from sharing other 200 hr Yoga Teacher Trainings.
Although I have felt my nervous energy merge with my excited energy, I know several things that I won’t have to worry about. I won’t have to worry about connecting with others in the training, I won’t have to worry about feeling a meaningful and deep dedication to the practice, I won’t have to worry about learning because there is so much that is available to us all to learn and relearn, and I don’t have to worry about my teacher not coming from a place of sincerity. It is abundant and apparent how much my teacher, Talia, practices these traditional and beautiful practices in her own life. This is not by any means a comparison, but a highlight of how the sun can illuminate everything around them.
I personally practice non-dualism, this is the approach that we take in this training (Advaita Vedanta). Seeing Yoga as union means non-seperation. Even a child can be enlightened, therefore there is no knowledge that needs to be gained, but we can use these tools of knowledge to guide us when lost or faltering from a connection to Ultimate Truth. Often times book knowledge is gained for the ego, and we must be cautious of knowing when that knowledge is being used for our own clarity or for the righteousness of our egos. Knowledge isn’t there to hold over anyones head.
I am grateful for this path I have embarked upon. I will be sharing pictures, videos, and hopefully some blog posts about my experience. Just as something begins, so it must end. Every experience, even if good, is an opportunity to live fully present, absorb the lessons given and remain humble in our process. Even the yogi that climbs high on the mountain of enlightenment can fall at anytime. One must keep their gaze on the path, many things will try to distract you or hold you back, even if they are pretty or fun. Meet Ultimate Truth with the passion of many lifetimes.
